Veteran Info:
Additional Information: Marjory's life was characterized by her faith in a loving God, her zest for all life's pleasures, her joy through every season, and her abundance of rich relationships. As she put it, she "seized the wave and rode it." Born to missionaries in Brazil, where her parents pioneered a school for young people who had no educational opportunities, Marjory came to America when she was 13. She later married seminary student August John (Jack) Kling, whose work took the young couple to Europe. During their seven years there, they had four children-in Edinburgh, Salzburg, Vienna and Munich. When they returned to the U.S., Jack pastored churches in Hackettstown, NJ, where he and Marjory had two more children. In all those years, "Marji" was the quintessential pastor's wife and a dynamic mother and friend. After Jack died, Marji moved to Richmond, VA. and in 1989 she met and married a loving, devout, retired banker, John Alistair Robertson. Marji and John devoted their 22 wonderful years together to Hope Church and many Richmond ministries, as well as to hosting hundreds of parties and dinners at their house and traveling about the world. Marji loved learning cooking, listening to music, flower arranging, reading, traveling...and most of all, people. She rode life's ups and downs with optimism, joy, and a sense of adventure based on her deep faith in the sovereignty and love of God.
