James V. D'Aries, 85 , died  02/26/04 in  his residence.  James lived in  Washington Township (Morris Co.)NJ for 1 1/2 years coming from Port Charlotte, FL where he lived for 12 years. and was born in Orange, NJ on 05/03/18.

Occupation: Mr. D'Aries was employed at Automatic Switch Co., East Hanover, NJ retiring in 1988.

Veteran Info: Served in the US Coast Guard Reserve from 1942 - 1943.

Additional Information:  He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Mountain R.C. Church, Schooley's Mountain, NJ; Member of the Hackettstown American Legion Post # 164; in the 6th grade he was chosen to attend Thomas Edison's funeral; he was an accomplished athlete - setting many records in Orange High School in Track and All State Football; he also participated in the "Melrose Games" at Madison Square Garden, New York City; also was an active amateur boxer. He operated the Excel Confectionary Co. in Orange, NJ; Operated the "Brewery Lunch" in Orange, NJ and was the Head Cashier of the financial dept. of Rheingold Beer in Orange, NJ.

Visitation: Sunday, February 29, 2004, 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the funeral home.

Services: Funeral Mass on Monday, March 1, 2004 at 11:00 AM- at Our Lady of the Mountain R.C. Church, Schooley's Mountain, NJ

In Lieu of Flowers: No requests

Interment: Private cremation will follow Funeral Mass.
