Additional Information: She was a graduate of Stroudsburg Normal School and taught physical education at Nazareth, PA. In 1960 she became active in the Budd Lake Civic Club, raising funds for the lake's weed control. She was a member of the Budd Lake PTA where she served as Vice President and President of the Morris Co. Council of PTAs and Vice President of NJPTA. She also was elected to two three year terms on the West Morris School Board. Her outstanding work on behalf of children earned her a Lifetime Membership in the National PTA. She was a member of both Sussex and Northwest Morris Business & Professional Women's Club and was a founding member of the NJ Association of Women Business Owners (NJAWBA) and instrumental in starting and encouraging its Warren-Sussex Chapter. In 1985 both organizations singled her out as Woman of the Year. The Mt. Olive Area Chamer of Commerce also benefitted from her volunteer expertise and leadership. Here she rose to become one of its most able presidents. During her illustrious career she earned a distinguished Service Award by Mt. Olive Area Chamber of Commerce, honors from Women's Business Conference, The Mosaic Award from Centenary College for 50 years of service and named a Community Treasure by Mt. Olive Twp. on her 90th birthday. She was an active member and Trustee of the Budd Lake Union Chapel for 30 years. Over the years she enjoyed collecting and reciting poetry and always included a poem when she was called upon to share her experiences at speaking engagements.
