Julius "Babe" G. Bartku

Julius G. "Babe" Bartku, 76, of Hackettstown, N.J., died Wednesday, February 6, 2013 in Newton, N.J. after a lengthy illness. Born in Dover, N.J. on September 14, 1936, "Babe" was the son of the late Louis & Josephine Jugan Bartku.
"Babe" retired several years ago from a multi talented career starting as a tree surgeon for Asplundh Corporation of Landing, N.J., as well as a chauffeur and finally retiring as a wood craftsman. He and his family have lived in the greater Hackettstown area for many years. A true Outdoorsman,"Babe" was a lifetime member of the Allamuchy Gun Club. After retirement "Babe" loved woodworking, hunting, fishing, spending time with his family, and an occasional trip to Las Vegas and Atlantic City. As a young man, he proudly served his country in the New Jersey National Guard.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Dorothy "Louise" Smith Bartku of Hackettstown, N.J. One Son, Louis Bartku and his wife Gwenn of Independence Twp., N.J. Two Grandson's, Gregory and Aaron Bartku.
Friends may call on Monday, February 11, 2013 from 4 to 7pm at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High St., Hackettstown, N.J., 07840. Funeral Services will be at the end of the visitation beginning at 7pm. Cremation will be private.

The men of the Allamuchy Gun Club are sorry for your loss of Babe. He was a true friend and good hunter of the Club. We know he is now in a better place and he will surely be missed by all.
