John W Budd, known to friends as "Jack", peacefully passed away on December 14, 2019, at the age of 89 years. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and wonderful grandfather and great grandfather.
 
Jack was a native of Hackettstown NJ and long-time resident of Succasunna NJ. Jack is a descendant of the Budd Family of Budd Lake NJ and can trace his family history back to Obadiah Ayers, a founding father of Hackettstown, NJ.  Jack enjoyed sharing stories about his life growing up in this area of NJ. Jack attended Nichols College in Dudley, MA, served in the New Jersey National Guard, and retired from GMAC. He and his wife, Joann were members of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Succasunna, NJ, where Jack faithfully served as an usher for many years.
 
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Joann, three sons John Robert (Bob), Ronald, and James, three daughters-in-law Sandy, Jill, and Wendy, six grandchildren John Zachary, Brooks, Nichole, Tamara, Molly, and Brian, two step grandchildren Erica and Kevin, and one great grandchild, Jaxton. He is also survived by a brother, Jerre and his wife Nancy.  He is preceded in death by his son Thomas and his parents DeWitt and Vesta Budd.

 
He will be deeply missed.
 
Family and friends will be invited to a memorial service to celebrate Jack’s life at a later date.

My memories of Jack go way back to my childhood not only as a neighbor of your family but as a cousin of Jack's. I spent a lot of time at your house and remember his sense of humor the most. May your memories sustain you for all time Joann knowing that Jack presence here was a job well done. May he Rest in Peace
