As a friend and classmate of Lynn since grade school, I have many memories of when we played baseball and basketball together while at Denville and Morris Hills H.S. His natural athletic abilities were displayed in his competitiveness and his desire to excel. Some of us can remember in a Morristown H.S. JV baseball game that Lynn was pitching. The batter hit a “sky-high” fly ball that Lynn called, waving everyone off. Unfortunately, he lost sight of the ball, in the setting sun, and it shattered his glasses into his eye. Watching this occur as the 3rd baseman was one of the most unforgettable sites I have ever witnessed. Fortunately, his eye healed and he was not blinded, as far as I know. We offer our condolences to his family and friends.

To the Oakley Family, I grew with Lynn in Indiean Lake. He was one of the smartest kids in grammer school.Lynn was awesome at jumping rope (funny how I remember that), a great dancer in dance class and was just a nice friend to all. I remember that one day Lynn was hit by a car walking home from school. I don't think he was hurt badley. I also remember when their livingroom caught fire. They were sleeping and lucky to get out okay. Mrs. Oakley worked in our cleaning store launderette and Lynn worked at the cleaners(3B's part-time). Mr. Oakley was a great man too. Barbara was my sister Billie's age. I am so sorry that I haven't seen Lynn in years. I moved from Denville a long time ago. I just wanted you to know the Oakleys where a special family in my life. I am sure you already figured that out for yourselves. I am so sorry for your loss.

Dear Nancy, We were saddened to hear of the illness and sudden passing of your beloved husband Lynn. You were always so proud of him and your growing family. You were looking forward to a long life and to grow old together as he was your soul mate. He parted from this earth too soon and there's little comfort in that, however, I hope you can see his soul in your children's and grandchildren's eyes. Someone like Lynn always touches your heart and the lives of those around him. You were fortunate to have been blessed with each other. Sincere condolences to your family. Michael & May

We are so sorry to hear about Lynn. We have many fond memories from the lake.
Remember sitting with him at Kevin's wedding not so long ago.
We are currently in Florida for 6 weeks so we will be unable to attend the viewing.
Please know our thoughts and prayers are with you.

My deepest sympathies to Ryan, Tara, Mrs. Oakley and the entire Oakley family. To my brother of close to 20 years, Ryan - my heart breaks for you, man. Your dad was always a kind person who never had anything bad to say about anyone and I will always remember him fondly. I am truly sorry for your loss and hope you can find some peace in knowing he's at rest and no longer suffering. You're all in my thoughts in this very difficult time. Take care. -Sapp
