Sharon L. Scudder, 68, of Hackettstown, NJ. passed away on Friday, January 15, 2016 at Paragon Village, Budd Lake, NJ surrounded by her loving family. Born January 23, 1947 in Dover, NJ, Sharon was the daughter of the late August & Gertrude Conn Bencivengo.
Sharon has lived in the Hackettstown area most of her life coming from Netcong, NJ where she spent her early childhood. Prior to retiring several years ago, Sharon had been employed by the former Area Lighting of Independence Twp. and lastly as a Home Health Aid. She was of the Methodist faith and attended church at Trinity United Methodist Church of Hackettstown. In addition, Sharon was active in community organizations such as the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Hackettstown Moose Lodge. Lastly, she loved playing Bingo with her friends at the Legion and was passionate about supporting her loving grandchildren at their sporting events or at home whenever possible.
She is survived by two sons, Charles W. Scudder, Jr. and his wife Shari, of Hackettstown, NJ & Michael Scudder and his wife Hope of Liberty Twp., NJ. Three loving grandchildren, Andrew, Kirsten & Cheyenne. Two sisters; Sandy and Linda; Four brothers, Nick, Jimmy, John & Gus. Sharon was predeceased by her beloved husband, Charles W. Scudder, Sr. in 2012 and two sisters; Arlene and Ann Marie.
Viewing hours will be Monday, January 18th at the Cochran Funeral Home from 4-8pm with the funeral service beginning at 8:00pm. Interment will be at Union Cemetery, Hackettstown, NJ on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 10:00am. The Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ is in charge of the arrangements. Chuck & Mike & families, please accept our sympathy for the passing of your Mom. She was a super lady and we had a lot of good times together. Her laugh was contagious and once we started we could not stop. I know she will be missed, but she is with Dad now, so be happy for her.
