John Wesley Wallace Jr. Born June 23, 1926, Entered the LORD’S Rest June 18, 2017 at Hackettstown Medical Center.Wes was born the oldest of three sons to John Wesley Wallace, Sr. and Martha Jane (Hills) Wallace in Orange, New Jersey. In addition to his parents Wes was predeceased by his brothers Raymond and Lowell, and his son David. Wes was raised in Livingston, and graduate from Orange High School. He served his country in World War II as a member of the United States Navy. He married Barbara Lilian (Hullinger) in 1951. They established a home in Montclair, then Verona, before moving to his adopted hometown of Hackettstown, in 1962. Wes graduated from Bloomfield College and earned his Master’s Degree from Montclair State College,teaching at Livingston High School, Dover High School, Mt. Lakes High School, becoming a Guidance Counselor at Rahway High School, and Phillipsburg High School, the district he retired from in 1988. Wes was a behind the scenes active in the community guy, serving a term as President of the Hackettstown Elementary School PTA, driving for the local Boy Scout paper drives and events at the old Camp Pahaquarra. He was an Elder and bus driver at the Hackettstown First Presbyterian Church, a Charter Member and Deacon, retiring as Deacon Emeritus, at the Church of The Covenant Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Hackettstown, and a longtime volunteer at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center retiring from there at 89.Wes and his wife Barbara were inducted into the Hackettstown Senior Hall of Fame May 19, 2004. In addition to his wife Barbara, Wes is survived by five of his sons, John Wesley III (Rosaline) Rio Rancho, New Mexico; Robert (Jennifer) Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania; Timothy (Theresa) Fairview, North Carolina; Paul (Robin), Hackettstown, New Jersey; Stephen (Angela) Washington, New Jersey and daughter Margaret of Washington, New Jersey; and Dave’s wife Tina, three sisters-in-law Mary Polom, Betty Hullinger and Anne Hotalen; nephews Lowell, Jeffery, Forrest, Francis, Paul, Andrew, and niece Sarah, 14 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. Visitation will take place on Thursday, June 22, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00pm at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High St, Hackettstown, NJ, 07840. Funeral services will be on Friday, 11:00am at Church of the Covenant, 319 Blau Road, Hackettstown, NJ, 07840. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery, Hackettstown, NJ. our deepest condolences to the family . we both volunteered at the hospital with wes and enjoyed his detailed educational conversations. He will be missed . may he rest in peace

Wes ,as we knew him @ HRMC was very interesting ,informative ,intelligent & all around fellow .We worked together @ the hospital for many years .He was fun to be around .He will be missed by many . Condolences to his wonderful family .Peace !

Paul it is with great sadness I heard of the passing of your father. Knowing he is with the Lord is a great comfort but I am sure you will miss him greatly. We will keep you and Robin and your family in our prayers.
