Jean A. Kunkel, age 86, of Hackettstown died Friday, March 23, 2012 at home in Hackettstown, surrounded by her loving family. Jean was born June 23, 1925 in Bronx, NY. She was the daughter of the late Andrew and the late Mary (Battaglia) Santonastasio. She was married to the late Wallace M. Kunkel.

Jean was a member of the Abundant Life Community Church, Port Murray, NJ. She also was a member of the Golden Agers of the Abundant Life. She was last employed by Offrey's, Flanders, NJ in Packaging and Design.  Most of all Jean enjoyed spending time with her loving family and extended family, giving and receiving love. Jean loved music, sewing, especially doll making; her home was the center for holiday celebrations-everyone loved her cooking. She was an exceptional storyteller which her family enjoyed immensely.

She is survived by her 6 sons: Marc Kunkel and his wife Peggy; Bruce Kunkel and his wife Helen, Jeff Kunkel, Wally Kunkel, Carl Kunkel, Christopher Kunkel; a daughter Mary Walsh and her husband Ed; 13 grandchildren, Karen Williams, Kris Platko, Mike, Henry, Daniel, Elizabeth (Lizzy), Emily, Lafe and Ben Kunkel, James, Christopher, Dawn and David Walsh; 6 Great-grandchildren, Ian Dobyns, Aubrey and Julie Williams, George and Matthew Platko,  Bella Bliss Kunkel.

Predeceased by her Late Husband, Wallace Kunkel, 3 Brothers; Andy, Phil And Bill, and 2 Sisters; Florence And Gladys.

The funeral service will be held 12:00 noon on Thursday, March 29 at Abundant Life Community Church, 21 Cherry Tree Bend Road, Port Murray, NJ with Pastor Tim Duryea officiating. Burial will be in Hackettstown Union Cemetery, Hackettstown.
