Catherine M. Brooks, age 96, died Monday, January 9, 2012 at Pinehurst, NC. Catherine lived in Long Valley for 28 years coming from Clifton, NJ and was born May 28, 1915 in Paterson, NJ. She is the daughter of the late Anton and the late Katherine (Lockner) Dubits. She was married to the late David J. Brooks who died in 1994. She was also predeceased by her Anthony and two sisters, Ann and Teresa.

She was employed by Kosman School, Long Valley NJ as the Manager of the Cafeteria. In addition Catherine was the Vice President of DAB Land Surveying Co., Kinnelon, NJ

She is survived by her daughter: Kathleen J. Brooks, her son: David A. and his wife Dolores Brooks; 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Catherine was the former President of the Lakeview Woman’s Republican Club, Clifton, NJ, was a member of the Jolly Nine Woman’s Club, a member of the Division of Aging in Morris Plains, and was a volunteer at the Chester Nutrition Program, Chester, NJ

The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, January 14 at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J. with Fr. Abuchi Nwofu officiating. Burial will be in Somerset Hills Cemetery, Basking Ridge.

Calling hours will be Saturday, January 14 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J.
