'FRED DALE MITCHELL - I DID IT MY WAY

Fred passed away On April 15, 2020.

Born 11/13/29 in Pittsfield IL to parents Violet and Elmer Mitchell. He grew up in several towns in
Illinois, mainly Springfield.

He served in the army during the Korean War.

Later married Shirley Thorndal of East St. Louis, Illinois. They had a son, Fred,Jr. and a daughter, Lynne.

His career was with Illinois Bell Telephone, living in Alton, Park Forest and Carol Stream, Illinois. Also
wit
h AT&T in New York City and Basking Ridge, New Jersey. He lived in New Providence, New Jersey.

He travelled extensively, 5 trips to Europe, several trips to the Caribbean and 35 cruises.

He was an excellent Duplicate Bridge player. He was a member of the Civil War Round Table in Chicago.

He wrote 7 time travel books and was president of the Carol Stream Park Board where a park is named
after him.

He and his wife retired to Arizona for over 30 years where they lived in Green Valley, Mountainbrook
Village and Mesa,

Besides his beloved wife he leaves his daughter, Lynne Mulvihill of Hackettstown NJ and son Fred.Jr. of
C
arol Stream. IL.

He has 7 grandchildren, Michael Mitchell (deceased), Michelle Mitchell, Mallory Mitchell, Melanie
Suffred
in, Richie Mulvihill, Bryan Mulvihill and Sarah Mulvihill.

He leaves 9 great-grandchildren.
