 Elizabeth Helen Meyer, age 89, of Hackettstown, NJ died Friday, June 30, 2017 at home.  Elizabeth was born February 12, 1928 in New York, NY. She was the daughter of the late Patrick and Elizabeth (Tobin) Kenny. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Meyer in 2016, her 2 brothers Patrick and Terence Kenny, 2 sisters Frances Chadwick and Beatrice Shaughnessy. 

She was previously employed by Hackettstown Regional Medical Center in their Building Department.  Elizabeth was a devoted catholic who was a former member of both Our Lady of the Mountain Roman Catholic Church and St. Mark’s the Evangelist Church both of Long Valley, NJ.  She was a former member of the Our Lady of the Mountain Rosary Society and Choir and she also taught CCD.  Elizabeth enjoyed gardening loved to cook for her family, was an avid reader and adored listening to Irish music.

She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Jane McKenna and husband Dennis, her son, John Meyer and wife Linda, 6 grandchildren, Mary Jane DeMeo and husband John, Tara Ann Midili and husband Thomas, Dennis J. McKenna, Jr. and wife Vilma, Blaine John McKenna, Jackson Meyer, Dana Meyer, 6 great grandchildren, Samantha, Olivia, Daniel, Alyssa, Ryan and Jonathon, a sister, Mary McKay and husband Harold, many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 am on Friday, July 7 at St. Marks Parish, 59 Spring Lane, Long Valley, NJ.  Burial will be in Our Lady of the Mountain Cemetery, Long Valley following the mass.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 6 from 4-8 pm at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ.

For those desiring donations may be made to St. Mark's Roman Catholic Church, 59 Spring Street, Long Valley, NJ 07853 in memory of Elizabeth.
