John Nelson McCrea, age 83, Oxford, NJ died Monday, April 15, 2013 at Warren Haven Nursing Home of Oxford, NJ. John was born October 2, 1929 in Jersey City, NJ. He is the son of the late Frank and Florence (Eldridge) McCrea. He was married to the late Evelyn (Amoroso) McCrea.
He served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War from 1946 to 1951. He was employed by Hoffman LaRoche in Belvidere, NJ as a Supervisor. John was an avid reader and loved to explore with his metal detector.
He is survived by 2 sons; Steve McCrea and wife Nancy of Hackettstown, NJ and Alan McCrea and wife Sara of Hackettstown, NJ. 2 brothers; Fred McCrea of OH and Warren McCrea of PA; sister: Amanda Fuhro of TX.
Cremation is private. Arrangements by Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840.

John is now at peace and in God's hands. We will always remember him fondly as he loved to share his stories and experiences as a supervisor at Hoffman LaRoche, as US Marine and his hobby of metal detecting. We are saddened by his passing but know in our hearts that he is at peace.
