Esther “Sugar” Asciutto, 84, died Sunday July 6th 2014, at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center. Esther was born May 20, 1930 in the Bronx, NY. She lived in the Hackettstown area for the past 20 years after living previously in Livingston, NJ. Esther is the daughter of the late Frank L. and Rita (Masciello) Naccarato. She was also predeceased by her sister, Sarah “Sunny” Gaudioso. Esther was a teacher for the New Rochelle School Distrect before her retirement. She enjoyed spending time with her four grandchildren, reading, knitting, and doing the daily crossword puzzels. Esther was an avid traveler and piano player. She is survived by her husband, George Asciutto; 1 son, Frank Asciutto and his wife Patricia, 1 daughter, Georgia Asciutto, 4 grandchildren, Kevin, Dana, Amy, and Gianna. Calling hours will be Wednesday, July 9th from 2 – 4 and 7 - 9 pm at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J. Services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 10th at Waterloo Methodist Church, Waterloo Village Rd, Stanhope, NJ with Rev. Joe McCarthy officiating( Please meet at the church on Thursday). In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Judes Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in memory of Esther.

My deepest sympathy to the family. Esther's fascinating stories will remain with me. I thoroughly enjoyed her company and the way she enjoyed her life and loved her family.
