 Bernard T. Monahan, age 85, a longtime resident of Washington Township NJ died Monday, June 12, 2017 at Forest Manor Health Care Ctr. of Hope, NJ.  Bernard was born July 2, 1931 in Scranton, PA. He is the son of the late Thomas and Gertrude (English) Monahan.  In addition to his parents Bernard is preceded in death by his wife Anna Mae (Desiati) in 2009. 

Bernard served proudly in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War from 1951 to 1955.  He was formerly employed by West Morris Regional Board Of Education as a School Bus Driver. Prior to that he owned and operated Monahan Realty along with his wife Anna.  He was a former member of the Chester Lions Club, Chester, NJ and he enjoyed watching baseball and football.

He is survived by his loving son, Patrick Monahan and wife Amy and cherished granddaughter, Jaclyn Monahan.

Visitation will be held at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840 on Wednesday June 14, 2017 from 3-8 pm with funeral services beginning at 8 pm.

Pat and Amy, We are very sorry to hear of your fathers passing. Your mom and dad sold us the property our house is on now. He was a true gentleman very friendly a great guy. May God bless you and yours

Pat and family.So sorry to hear of your fathers passing.We had a lot of laughs together.We knew some of the same people from Scranton and we would go down memory lane talking and joking about them.He was great to be around,He will be missed
