Died: Jun 19, 2017
William “Bill” Bornhoeft
William Bornhoeft died June 19, 2017 in Hackettstown, NJ, his residence since 2013.
Born July 5, 1932 and raised in Newark, NJ, Bill graduated Eastside High in 1951 and married Adele Serfass the next year. They started their family in the Ironbound neighborhood.
The Bornhoeft’s moved to West Milford, NJ in 1966, living there until retiring to Sebastian, FL, in 1991, where Bill’s favorite activity was competing in local softball leagues.
He took pride in his Newark roots and his career as a bus driver for NJ Transit. Bill returned to New Jersey when Adele passed away in 2013. He enjoyed recalling memories of his driving career for the residents and staff of the Good Shepherd community. He did not live in the past, however, keeping current with the growth of his grandchildren and the highs and lows of the Yankees season.

His family plans to commemorate his life privately.
Arrangements has been entrusted to Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840.
