I was out of town last week and sadly learned of Chuck's passing this evening when I came into work... Chuck was an exceptional human being and gentleman....he loved to converse with people and he loved to read. He shared about his experiences in the military with me as my son is interested in possibly enlisting after college...he would then open his hand and sprinkle some candy my way which of course brought a smile. It was conversations and acts of kindnesses such as those that gave me strength for my training process after being out of the workforce for several years. I never saw fear in Chuck, no matter what he was dealing with. With heartfelt sympathy, I keep you all in my prayers.

Chuck was also my mentor in many ways, he shared and gave his knowledge freely to all who would listen ... A great man

The year Chuck retired from the Army he was a member of the board that selected me to join him as a Nuclear Weapons Warrant Officer. Four years later we met again when I was assigned to Picatinny and he was a DA Civilian working in the New Equipment Training branch. After my retirement from the Army he was instrumental in bringing me on as an instructor there as well. I owe much to him for both my military and civilian career as do many others. My wife worked with him at Picatinny as well. His 50+ years of service to his country truly made a difference. He was mentor to all he worked with and was a positive influence on everyone he met. The world is a better place because of him and we will miss him.
