Robert B.  Pomicter
Died: Sep 26, 2016
Robert B. Pomicter Jr passed away Monday September 26th 2016 at the age of 63. As an exceptionally gifted musician he dedicated his life to sharing his love of music and knowledge for classical guitar and theory.  Bob founded the Studio 46 Music Study Center in Hackettstown NJ in 1987. His passing came before he could see the opening of the Studio in its new location.

At age nine, Bob was accepted as a private student of jazz guitarist and radio show celebrity, Joseph Bednarek, in Wilkes-Barre, PA. He went on to study classical guitar with Professor Fred Diezel, and music theory with Dr. John Gorman.  He was the musical director at Theatre in the Green for the 1975 season where he arranged and directed music for a Renaissance Consort in a production of Shakespeare's "Midsummer Night's Dream".  Bob felt that through instruction and enabling performers he could make the biggest difference. Actualizing this with George Akehurst he co-founded the North-West New Jersey's Community Orchestra “Stone Soup Symphony.” A supporter of Kiwanis, Bob was honored with the Distinguished Secretary Award NJ District and Certificate of Administrative Excellence for his term of Secretary in the Kiwanis Club of Mt. Olive Twp. 1996-1998.

Bob was a loving, and humble man whose heart was big enough for everyone. He touched the lives of countless students who carry his spirit on. Many of them now have careers of their own in the music industry, from Professors of Music, to professional performers, and recording artists.

He is survived by his beloved father Robert Pomicter Sr. His loving friends, and all the students he referred to as his kids.  His legacy is one that will endure for generations through his musical scores, arrangements, and wisdom which he passed on to each one of his students and friends.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Cochran Funeral Home, INC. 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840. Those wishing to leave an online condolence may do so at www.cochranfuneral.com/.

I know this is very late, but I just found out about Bob's passing last night. To Bob's family, and to Mr. Pomicter (Bob's Dad) in particular, I send my deepest regrets and condolences. I loved Bob and I feel an emptiness in my soul today. He touched so many lives and was loved by so many. Even though we didn't keep in touch that often, we didn't need to; I could pick up the phone after a year or so, give him a call, and it was just like we talked the day before. I'm going to really miss him. You just can't replace a friend like Bob.

The amount of which you will be missed is only surpassed by the love you have given. You've taught us more than anything else to share. Share the Joy, the Love, and the Music.
