Roberta Reed Brandt

Roberta Reed Brandt of Budd Lake died peacefully on May 12, 2013 after a 15 month struggle with brain cancer. The daughter of Forrest and Allison Reed of Hoosick Falls, NY, she was born February 25, 1938. Roberta studied science and math at the Unversity of Rochester and taught math after graduation. She married James E. Brandt in Dec. 1959 and they shared 53 years of married life.
Roberta enjoyed caring for her home, flower gardens and children, Lisa and Jim. She made beautiful craft items, won ribbons for flowers arrangements, and was a member of the Local Garden Club. Always social, she enjoyed leading parties for her Longaberger basket business. Roberta was a member of St. James Episcopal Church for more than 45 years.
Roberta loved nature and visiting National Parks. She and her husband traveled to 49 states in their motor home.
Roberta shared her love of plants, birds, and animals with her grandsons, David, Robert and Jason. She is also survived by her brothers Robert and Forrest (Jr.) Reed.
Calling hours will be Wednesday May 15, 2013 from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday May 16, 2013 at 10:30 AM at St. James Episcopal Church, 124 Washington Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840.
Interment will be private.

Although I was your "little" cousin, you always treated me as an equal - you taught me how to listen to music, how to enjoy games - we shared our love for our grandparents and you honored me by having me serve as your maid-of- honor.
