Susan L. Hayakawa of Great Meadows, N.J., died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown, N.J., she was 54 years old. Born April 26, 1960 in Phillipsburg, Pa., Susan was the daughter of Gerald & Helen Witters Evans of Toms River, N.J.. Susan was currently working for the Market Day Corporation as a Sales Manager and was previously employed by the First Hope Bank in the Hackettstown and Great Meadows offices where she served as Assistant VP Business Development . In addition to her mother and father, Susan is survived by her Husband, Takeshi Hayakawa and a loving daughter, Amy Hayakawa. Brother: Robert Evans. Visitation will be on Saturday, 6-28-2014 from 4pm to 8pm at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J., 07840. 2:00pm Funeral services will take place on Sunday, 6-29-14 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Main Street, Hackettstown, N.J.. Cremation will be private. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Church or United Way, P.O. Box 6835, Bridgewater, NJ 08807.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. We have spent the last few days sharing memories and pictures of Susan. Growing up, I always looked forward to Susan's trips back to PA or us going to New Jersey to visit. She was and is well loved.

Dear Takeski and Amy,
Our hearts are broken with the loss of Susan. We have beautiful memories of the times we all shared together as our kids grew up. We will cherish forever Susan's smile, big laugh and wonderful joy of life. She truly loved every day and it always showed. May she enjoy peace in God's love and always watch over you both always. Dear Takeshi and Amy I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I truly loved working with Susan and can see her smiling face in my mind. She will be remembered fondly. She is an angel for all of us now.
