Ruth Caroline Johanson, age 84, a resident of Hackettstown for the past 53 years died Monday, November 5, 2018 peacefully at home.Ruth was born February 27, 1934 in Bronx, NY to the late Anthony and Ruth Anna (Sweeny) Campbell.In addition to her parents Ruth is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Cornelius Johanson and daughter, Karen Johanson
She was employed by TY Ward Monument Co., Hackettstown, NJ as a Clerk for many years before retiring. Ruth was a member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, and the Ladies VFW Auxiliary both of Hackettstown, NJ, enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, baking, gardening, and was an avid Bingo player. In addition, she was an avid reader and a devoted caregiver of her two grandsons.
She is survived by her loving son, Neal Johanson, her cherished daughter, Susan Egan and her husband Steven, her sister, Jane Campbell, her adoring grandsons, Steven and Kyle Egan.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 1:00 pm on Friday, November 9 at Church Of The Assumption Of The Blessed Mary, 305 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J. with Father Antony Arockiadoss officiating. Burial will be in Pequest Union Cemetery, Great Meadows following the mass.
Visitation will be Friday, November 9, 2018 from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ.
For those desiring donations may be made to Karen Ann Quinlan, 99 Sparta Avenue, Newton, NJ 07860 in memory of Ruth.

My deepest condolences to each of Ruthie's family. Though we have not met, I have been friend's with your Aunt Jane since High School. I remember Ruthie from so many years ago when she and Neal were first married and before you were born.....
