Karen Louise Kromer, 68, of Snydersville, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2015 at University Hospital in Tamarac, Florida. Born on June 6, 1946 in Jersey City, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Ingvald and Louise (Dotti) Grimsland. She grew up with her younger brother Jan and sister Vicki in Fort Lee. She graduated from Fort Lee High School and worked at Continental Excess as an insurance underwriter for 20 years. In 1983, Karen married Peter Kromer and lived on a small farm in Mansfield, NJ. She raised their two children and made a warm and loving home. Karen enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and relaxing in the sun. She was a fun, caring mother who enjoyed cooking. Her meals were full of love and always brought the family together. As a volunteer, she delivered food to homes for Meals on Wheels. Karen was a wonderful person and will be missed. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter; Kaitlin L. Kromer of Stroudsburg, PA, son; Justin S. Kromer and his wife Julie of Arlington, VA, sister; Vicki A. Grimsland and her husband Gary Mitchell of Culver City, CA, brother; Jan G. Grimsland and his wife Laura of Wayne, NJ. Services will be held at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840 at 12pm on Saturday, February 14th with the Rev. Joseph McCarthy officiating. Burial will follow at the Union Cemetery in Hackettstown, NJ. Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, February 13th from 2-8pm at the Cochran Funeral Home. For those desiring donation may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942 in memory of Karen.

Much love to the Kromer and Grimsland families at this difficult time. Rest in peace, dear Karen. I will cherish always my memories of our 55-year friendship.

I am sadden by Karen's death. She was a friend and a long time neighbor in Columbia, New Jersey. My deepest condolences to Justin and Katelyn, as well as the rest of her family...
