Theresa J. Vetrone, age 84, of Hackettstown, NJ formally of Bergenfield, NJ, died Thursday, November 21, 2019 at Forest Manor Health Care Ctr. of Hope, NJ. Theresa was born August 27, 1935 in Jersey City, NJ. She is the daughter of the late Vincent and Grace (Dillon) Crocitto. She married Alfonso Vetrone.

Theresa graduated high school in 1954 from St.Joseph's in West New York, New Jersey. After high school, she went on to work as a clerk for two decades in Union City. Theresa later worked at Teaneck High School as a cafeteria aide while her children were in grammar school. Throughout Theresa's life she devoted her time to St. John's parish being a Eucharistic Minister and reader on a regular basis. Theresa enjoyed her friends at church and her group of friends she would play bingo with every week. In her later years, Theresa was a stay at home mother and grandmother taking care of her family and hosting holidays. Theresa loved spending time with her family and enjoyed going out, going to Foxwoods, and shopping.

Theresa is survived by her beloved husband Alfonso Vetrone; three loving daughters; Donna Vetrone Krieger and her husband Jonathan, Josephine DeRosa and her husband Al, and Alice Layne and her husband Peter; three adoring grandchildren; Krystina, Elyse, and Jeffry; and two siblings; Patricia and Vito.

Calling hours will be Saturday, November 23 from 1:00 pm - 3:00pm at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J..

The funeral Service will be held 3:00 pm on Saturday, November 23 at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J. with Father Antony Arockiadoss officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity or church of your choice in Theresa`s memory.

We remember Tessie and the great times we had. A lot of fun and laughter. Donna, Josephine and Alice you were blessed with a wonderful Mom. God Bless you all.

My condolences to you Al, Donna, Josephine and Alice. Tessie was the best! Used to make us so welcome when we used to hang out on Haring St. I won’t be able to attend tomorrow but I will say a prayer for everyone. Let me know if there is anything I can do.
