 Edward Lewis Fleming, 86 of Pattenburg, New Jersey, passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2017.  He was born on June 20, 1931, at Warren Hospital in Phillipsburg, New Jersey, the son of Stanley and Alta Fleming.  Ed grew up in West Portal, New Jersey and attended Hampton High School.

He married Jeanne Hixon in 1950, who passed away in 2012.   They were partners in Fleming & Fleming Electrical Contractors for 40 years.  Together, Ed and Jeanne are survived by four children: Alta Fleming and her husband Edward Pilicy, Edward L Fleming Jr. and his wife Sally, Jill Fleming and her husband David Dunlavy, and Kevin L Fleming and his wife Bonnie. Ed is also survived by eight grandchildren: Molly Butler Bailey and her husband Chuck, Megan Zirinsky and her husband Ralph, Katy Fleming and her husband Charlie, Edward Fleming III and his wife Reetika, Adam Dunlavy and his wife Molly, Abby Dunlavy, Joshua Fleming, and Kelsie Fleming, as well as two great grandchildren: Seamus and Finnegan Bailey.

Ed was very active within the community, serving on the Union Township Planning Board, Union Township Election Board, Pattenburg Volunteer Fire Company, Hunterdon County Electrical Contractors Association, the Hunterdon Hills Lion Club, serving as District Governor and President. He was also a member of Masonic Free & Accepted Masons Host Lodge #6 for 50 years.

Ed had the ability to make friends easily and was known for his fondness of travel with his beloved wife Jeanne, his sense of humor and love of life and family. He will be greatly missed.
