Dorothy L. Mitchell, age 81, of Manchester, NJ died Monday, September 24, 2012 at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center, Hackettstown, N.J. Dorothy was born September 22, 1931 in West NY, NJ. She is the daughter of the late John and Thelma (Stepback) Burkert. She was predeceased by her husband, William J. Mitchell in 2003.

She was employed by Henry O. Baker, Dover, NJ as an Insurance Claims Adjuster.
Dorothy was a member of the Leisure Knoll Book Club and was an avid reader. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by ; a son and wife, John Arthur & Kathy Peterson; a daughter and husband, Nancy & Charles Guerriere; brother John Burkert; daughter in law, Debra Peterson; grandson and wife, Peter & Colleen Guerriere; grandson and fiancé, Robert Guerrier & Wisam; grandson and fiancé, Bryan Peterson & Mandy; grandson, Scott Peterson; predeceased by a son, late Andrew Peterson.

The funeral will be held 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J. 07840. Burial will be in Hackettstown Union Cemetery, Hackettstown, NJ

Calling hours will be Friday, September 28, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 7:00 to 9:00pm at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J..
