Czyzewski, Lisa, Age 44, of Long Valley, New Jersey, passed away at home on January 11, 2014 at 6:21 a.m. Lisa was the daughter of Jerry Nieto and the late Carmen (Alfieri) Nieto. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Pete and beloved daughter, Rebecca Rose; brothers Gerald and David Nieto; 2 maternal aunts, Rosarie Alfieri and Susan Maggi and her husband Thomas; 3 paternal aunt, Adeline Perez, Theresa DiMenza and Albina Nieto-Santini, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Before battling a lengthy disease, Lisa was a Registered Nurse for 9 years in Saint Barnabas Medical Center’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. She cared for each baby as if it were her own. Ironically she gave birth to a daughter in her 24th week of pregnancy. Rebecca Rose spent several months in the same neonatal intensive care unit. Today, this “miracle baby” is a healthy 15 year – old girl. She is the love of their lives, their brightest star. Prior to that, she worked briefly as a cosmetologist.
She met her husband, Pete, when they were in middle school and had their first date on June 21, 1984. Lisa and Pete were truly soul mates and recently renewed their wedding vows.
Lisa enjoyed the simple things in life…time with her family was her favorite pastime. She also had a great love of animals and loved helping others. Lisa’s sweet, kind and loving personality is the reason many people considered her to be an angel on earth.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 15, at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, New Jersey from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, January 16, 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark’s Roman Catholic Church, 59 Spring Lane, Long Valley, New Jersey. Father Abuchi Nwasu will be officiating. For those wishing to attend the mass, please meet at Cochran Funeral home at 9:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, for those wishing to make a contribution, the family request donations to be made in Lisa’s memory to Pete Czyzewski, c/o Cochran Funeral Home.
Condolences:

I didn't know Lisa, but I saw her often. Unfortunately it was when she was sick and in MMC. The first time I met her she was already battling this awful disease. I knew she was a fighter though. In the few mins I spent with her she would tell me about her miracle Rebecca and her wonderful husband, Pete. I wanted so much for God to spare her and her family of this awful pain. I'm saddened by her loss but thankful there's no more pain. Rest peacefully Lisa.

We are deeply sadden over the passing of Lisa. She was a bright and loving spirit; generous, thoughtful, friendly; funny and courageous. It was my blessing to get to know her over these past ten years. She gave me hope and friendship every time I spoke to or visited with her. I will miss her, but know that her loving spirit lives on in all whom she loved. Pete and Rebecca, may you find peace in the beautiful, loving spirit which will remain with you forever - her parting gift to you both. May God Bless you and bring you both comfort. With love and condolences, The Marley Family

Lisa was a passionate person, a fighter with a strong will but gentle spirit. She put up a good battle and a brave front for all. Hopefully Pete and Rebecca can find peace in that she is no longer in pain. We will miss her presence, but will think of her often and keep her in our hearts!

Our prayers go out the Lisa's family. We met years ago when our children attended the same Pre-School. I remember the day she shared with me that she had been diagnosed with this evil illness. It has been a long road for this woman. Never once did I ever see her where she didn't come over to me with a smile and ask ME how I was doing? She was truly a very strong and good hearted lady. May you rest in peace with the angels above watching over your beautiful family. God give them the strength to get through this difficult time. God Bless!

So a bit ago I was sitting with your mom in the TV room and remember we saw the missing chicken "bop" across the back of the yard. You guys ran down with a tennis racket or something to try and catch it. We were laughing so hard!
Lucky to have been a friend...

I thought I had known the highest intensity of love in my experiences in life UNTIL I met Lisa 9 years ago..Lisa exhibited a higher caliber of love than I was aware could be...the closest to what I know as godly love...I honestly have never known anyone to love to the intensity that she did . When she spoke of her family her love was almost tangible and enveloped the atmosphere with its surplus...the way she loved Pete and Rebecca, the way they perfected and completed her as a family... Was one of the greatest examples of LOVE I have ever been near....and she had even more of her heart to share, and shared it she did with so many , making each one of us feel we were special to her, and we were... And she was so generous, appreciative, loyal, forgiving, and understanding in a compassionate and empathetic way that exemplified the grace of a Christian woman to the enth degree....I used to hold myself in high esteem, but she set the bar at a higher level for me to attain. We achieved a friendship that was so valuable to me that I am in mourning for the piece of my heart Lisa has taken with her, but I am comforted in the piece of her heart she has left with me.I am confident she left all she knew with all the other pieces because her heart was big enough to share with the world.

Words are inadequate to express the sadness I feel about Lisa’s death. Wishing you peace to bring comfort, courage to face the days ahead and loving memories to forever hold in your hearts. My thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time.
