Keith W Hobokan
Died: Apr 18, 2020
Keith W. Hobokan, 67, of Hacketstown passed away Saturday, April 18, 2020, at Forest Manor Nursing Health Care Center. Keith was born on February 28, 1953 in New Brunswick, NJ the son of Joan and Bill Hobokan. He was a graduate of Hackettstown High School.
Keith’s career spanned more than 30 years working at various Shop Rite grocery stores – including Hackettstown, Roxbury and Springfield. He loved the Shop Rite brand. He then worked for 7 years at Walmart in Succasunna, NJ, retiring in his early 60’s.
Keith was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church for most of his life.
He was passionate about music, specifically Rock and Roll with his favorite bands being The Doors, Rolling Stones and Beatles. Growing up Keith loved camping at our family campsite at Green Valley Beach Campground, collected baseball cards and enjoyed the cars he drove. He owned a Plymouth Duster, a Pontiac Firebird and a Chevy Impala.
Keith was very close with our brother Kent – they did many things together and often were seen out around Hackettstown. They would go out to do laundry, shop and loved eating out! Most often it was Leo’s Luncheonette, Hot Dog Johnny’s, pizza or for a “fancy meal” Ruby Tuesday’s.
Keith was an avid baseball fan and loved the Yankees! He could recite stats from when we were kids – and if you doubted him, you were probably wrong. His baseball collection was well over 20,000 cards at one point.
Keith resided at Forest Manor and loved it there. His brother Kent moved in first and Keith wanted to know why he didn’t live there too! He loved being close to Kent, the staff were excellent to him and he no longer had to do laundry, dishes and other chores. It made him so very happy. The staff were with him through this journey and we are forever grateful.
Keith is predeceased in death by parents Joan and William, sister Kandy and brother Kent and survived by brother Kurt, sisters Karyl, Kourtney, Klaudia, and several nieces and nephews.
A family service will be held at Union Cemetery at a future date.

Dear Hobokan Family
My Wife Robin and were so saddened to hear of Kieth's passing and can not think of the feeling of loss you have losing Kent just a few months ago and now Kieth, and can only ask our LORD to comfort you all as only HE can.
Kieth was one of the residents of Forest Manor I was able to visit during my Pastoral visits every two weeks, and we were able to visit before Visitors were no longer allowed in the Nursing Homes.
May the LORD Bless you all and Keep you close through Christ our LORD
GOD Bless
