Bruno R. Chiesa

Bruno R. Chiesa, age 91, of Independence Township, Hackettstown, NJ died Saturday, May 5, 2012 at House Of The Good Shepherd, Hackettstown, N.J.. Bruno was born January 9, 1921 in New York City, NY. He is the son of the late Domenico and Maria (Premaschi) Chiesa. He was predeceased by his wife, Gloria (Nonna) Chiesa in 2002.

He served in the United States Army during WW II from 1940 to 1945. He retired from Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey as a Lock Specialist in 1986.
Bruno was a parishioner of the  Church of the Assumption Of The Blessed Virgin Mary for over fifty years, Hackettstown, NJ; lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus, Joyce Kilmer Council # 2483, Hackettstown, NJ and the V.F.W., Hackettstown, NJ; lifelong member and former Chief of the Mt. Bethel Volunteer Fire Dept.; he was an avid stamp and coin collector and belonged to the Skyland's Philatelic Society; Bruno spent many days constructing the stone wall in front of his home by which many people knew him; he was also a butcher for various companies by trade.

He is survived by a Son-Jeffrey Chiesa and 2 Daughters-Linda Hoffman and husband Thomas; Sandra Farina and husband Tony; as well as his 3 Grandchildren- Christopher Hoffman; Alexa Farina and Alexander Farina; Predeceased by a Sister, Bianca Curcio.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11:00 am on Friday, May 11, 2012 at the  Church Of The Assumption Of The Blessed Virgin Mary, 305 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J. Burial will be in Pequest Union Cemetery, Great Meadows, NJ following the Mass. 

Calling hours will be Thursday, May 10, 2012 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J..
