Lawrence B. Boyd, age 87, of Liberty Township, Great Meadows, NJ died Monday, July 2, 2012 at St. Clares Hospital in Dover, NJ. Lawrence was born October 5, 1924 in West Southport, ME. He is the son of the late Lawrence A. and Jennie (Jordan) Boyd.

He served in the US Army during WW II from 1943 to 1945. He was employed by The Boston & Maine Railroad, Boston, MA as a Civil Engineer.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Melrose, MA; he was a Mason with the Alna Anchor Lodge # 43 AF & AM, Damariscotta, ME; member of the Wyoming Lodge in Melrose, MA; member of the Waverly Royal Arch Chapter in Melrose, MA; member of Major General Henry Knox Lodge, Boston, MA; member of the Star of Bethlehem Lodge, Wakefield, MA and member of the Shriners, Boston, MA.

He is survived by his wife: Verna (Wyman) Boyd ; Son & Wife, Lawrence Henry & Debra P. Boyd; Son & Wife, Michael Peter & Laurel Ann Boyd; Daughter & Husband, Melissa Jane & Joseph S. Kerick, Jr.; Sister Janice Young; 2 Grandchildren, Kirsten Louise & Corbin Michael; 2 Great Grandchildren, Julianna Willett & Taylor Stickney; late brother, Harold Boyd; Late 3 Sisters, Marion, Doris & Margaret.

Relatives and friends will honor and remember Larry's life by gathering for visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose, MA on Friday, July 6, from 4-8 PM and again on Saturday morning where his Funeral Service will be celebrated at 10:00 AM.
