 Emma J. Trimmer, 83 of Mansfield Township died Wednesday November 12th at home. Born in Chester, NJ a daughter of the late Ernest and Rosetta (Hammel) Holmes, Sr. She lived in Mansfield Township for 31 years and had lived in Succasunna previously. Emma worked as a housekeeper at Welkind Rehabilitation Hospital in Chester. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and had a love of animals, a special joy was watching the hummingbirds at the feeder in her yard. She had a green thumb as seen in her flower gardens and she baked a great cheesecake. Perhaps her greatest joy was taking care of her family. She loved taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Even in her illness, she always expressed a concern for others. In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her 8 siblings, brothers, Ernest, Leslie, Charles, Melvin, Vernon, and Luther Holmes and sisters, Anna Mae Lance and Selena Sutton. Emma is survived by her beloved husband, Kenneth Trimmer, Sr., her two sons, Kenneth Trimmer Jr. and his wife Josephine and David E. Trimmer. Also Three grandchildren, Jay and Brian Trimmer and Amanda Stanley and her husband Mark, Two great grandsons, Matthew Stanley and Timothy Trimmer, Two great granddaughters, Ashley and Christina Trimmer and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Sunday November 16th from 1 to 4 pm at the Cochran Funeral Home 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ Funeral services will be held on Monday November 17th, 11am at the Cochran Funeral Home with Chaplain Mario Spadaro presiding. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Quaker Church Road, Randolph Township. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice 99 Sparta Ave. Newton, NJ 07840

I did not know Emma, but I was very close friends with her great granddaughter Christiana Trimmer. Christiana has always talked about Emma, she had lived her very much. My thoughts and prayers go out to this amazing family. R.I.P Emma, fly high! You will be missed by many!!
