Richard S. Kirby
Died: Jan 15, 2016

Richard S. Kirby, age 69, of Simpsonville, KY died Friday, January 15, 2016 at the VA Medical Center of Louisville, KY.  Richard was born August 24, 1946 in Newton, NJ. He is the son of the late Lester W. and Roberta Jane (Chamberlin) Kirby. 

 

Richard graduated from Hackettstown High School in 1964 and, shortly thereafter, joined the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and proudly served until 1970.

 

He received an Associate’s Degree in Engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, MA. Richard was then employed as an Engineer at Ingersoll Rand in the Phillipsburg, NJ facility.

 

Richard is survived by his loving wife Lisa (Etter) Rauch Kirby of Simpsonville, KY, three brothers Jim Kirby of Fairview NC, Thomas Kirby of Clinton, CT and Art Kirby of Greensboro, NC.

 

The funeral will be held 11:30 am on Monday, January 25, 2016 at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J. with Pastor Rich Peter officiating.  Burial will be in Tranquility Cemetery, Tranquility NJ, following the funeral service.

 

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 25, 2016 from 10:00 AM - 11:30 am at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ.

So sorry to hear of Dick's passing ...Allamuchy just sent GOD another Angel ,sad to say ...I knew the Kirby's since "Dickie" was a baby, that's what we called him then.I'm sure all the Allamuchy Indians were @ " The Gate " welcoming him ... RIP friend ....

Please accept our prayers and sympathy for the passing of Dick. He was a wonderful person and will surely be missed. He is at peace now and that is solace for his remaining family.

Sorry you had to leave us so soon but know you are at peace. Will always remember the fun times growing up. Your wonderful sense of humor was magical to all of us. Will miss you cuz.
