I was sorry to hear about Edna passing but will remember her with great fondness. Richard and I worked on the Garretson with her and have so many great memories of the garden, Dutch Christmas and all the different projects. I'll be thinking of your family. Regards, Claire Apffel

I was so sorry to hear today that your mother had passed on. But I know she's tickled pink to rejoin your Dad. They're probably going to get up to some gentle hijinks up there if I know Edna. I remember how warmly she welcomed me to the Garretson and the time she took to train me in the docent ways at GFFR. She so loved leading the children through the homestead and explaining things to them, making them laugh and learn at the same time. She was a great inspiration to all of us at the Garretson.

My condolences to my friend George and brother Jim. Oh....the memories. Thought of you George this summer while I was in Jackson Hole. We sure had fun with "Edna and George" on the MIMI. Didn't take it out too much, but loved Old Saybrook. I even got to drive the cadillac home from Old Saybrook! My grandchildren call me MiMi. I would LOVE to hear from you and "catch up." Edna (Mrs. Sporn to me) was a great lady. My best to the rest of the Sporn family. Please email me! Sincerely, Betty "Ann" Hiemstra Baliman
