Scott J. Carlson, 56, passed away peacefully at home in Independence Township, NJ with his loving wife, Judy at his bedside. Born January 22, 1959 in Hackensack, NJ, Scott was the son of Carol Nash Carlson and the late Arthur Carlson. Scott and Judy have lived in Independence Twp. for the past 25 years having moved from Bergen County, NJ.
A master carpenter, Scott was a self employed and the owner of Judson Construction Inc. of Hackettstown and Ridgewood, NJ for the past 30 years. Spending quality time with his wife, family and friends was Scott’s main priority. He was an avid musician having played the drums in several bands and also enjoyed the Jersey Shore, skiing, dirtbike riding and camping with the Boy Scouts.
In addition to his wife Judith Sonzogni Carlson, Scott is survived by three children; Scott Charles Carlson of Kenville, NJ; Erik Nash Carlson and Michelle Christine Carlson of Independence Twp. A brother, Todd Carlson of Texas and a sister, Bonnie Petrauskas of Flemington, NJ. His mother, Carol Carlson resides in Paramus, NJ.
Viewing hours will take place on Sunday, August 30, 2015 from 2pm to 6pm at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ. Funeral services will be Monday, 12 noon at the funeral home. The cremation and interment will be private. Donations in Scott’s name may be made to the Lustgarten Foundation, 1111 Stewart Avenue, Bethpage, NY, 11714. I am so sad to learn of Scotts passing. I thought that maybe one day we would be able to play again but, I guess that day will not happen. I am truly sorry for your loss.

Judy & family - I was heartbroken to hear of the passing of Scott.
I have the very best memories of him through high school and continuing on playing with the most popular club band of our time. He was a terrific man, talented, caring and always smiling. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your beautiful family.

Dear Carlson Family
I'm so sad to only learn today of Scott's passing. My prayers go out to all of you for God to give you strength. Scott was at the top of my list of favorite contractors for my projects, and he was also at the top of my list of the best quality people I have known during many years in construction. I feel a huge loss and Scott be greatly missed.

I'd like to extend my deepest condolences on the passing of Scott. I knew him when he played with a few local bands in the late 70's early 80's. He was a fantastic guy with an infectious smile and I will always remember him. The whole family is in my thoughts and prayers.
