Emiliano "Emil" Augusto Mazzarella

Emiliano Agusto Mazzarella "Emil" , 86, of Hackettstown formerly of East Orange and Newark, NJ died Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at home. Son of the Late Carmen and Olga "Elettra" (Sorrentini) Mazzarella.
Emil graduated with a BS in Electrical Engineering from Newark College of Engineering, Newark, NJ class of 1952. He continued his education, obtaining his Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering from Newark College of Engineering in 1958 (Newark College of Engineering is now widely known as NJIT).
He started his career at Western Electric in 1954 after proudly serving as a Corporal in the US Army during the Korean War. Emil worked his entire career with Western Electric, AT&T and then Lucent Technologies where he retired from in 1996.
He enjoyed to tinker with anything electrical, loved building and fixing things. In addition, he was an avid traveler once he retired. Emil was devoted to his faith, his parents and was a generous philanthropist.
He is survived by his cousins, Elayne Theriault, Ariel Genovese, Maryann Wysor and husband Andy, his friend, Judy Margoli and her children, Jake, Rachel and Joshua Weiss.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 5, 2017 from 2-4 pm at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Mary;s Church of the Assumption, High Street, Hackettstown, NJ on Monday, November 6, 2017 at 10 am. Burial to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice, 99 Sparta Avenue, Newton, NJ 07860 in memory of Emil.
