George J Asciutto, age 89, of Hackettstown died Monday, January 5, 2015 at St. Claire’s Hospital, Dover, NJ. George was born September 24, 1925 in Bronx, NY. He is the son of the late Otto and Teresa (Reres) Asciutto. He was predeceased by his wife, Esther in 2014. George is also preceded in death by 4 brothers; Louis, William, Richard & Donald and 3 sisters; Dora, Helen & Ada. He served in the US Army Air Corps during World War II from 1943 to 1945. George attended Ionia College, NY graduating with a B.S. in Engineering and was employed by AT&T, Newark, NJ as an Engineer. He was a member of the American Legion Blue ridge Post #164, Hackettstown, NJ, he enjoyed stained glasses making and was an avid history buff. He is survived by his daughter; Georgia Asciutto, 1 son; Frank Asciutto and his wife Patricia; 4 grandchildren; Dana, Amy, Kevin & Gianna. Visitation will be held at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ on Sunday, January 11, 2015 from 2-6 pm. A funeral service will follow visitation at 6pm. Cremation is private. For those desiring donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675 in memory of George.

A fine sweet gentleman has gone to his long home. May George be at peace with his beloved Esther. Deepest sympathy to Georgia, Frank, Patricia and all their children. May his memory be a blessing.
