Natalie Louise Sherman Kleinkauf passed away peacefully on July 2, 2014 at her residence in Heath Village, Hackettstown, NJ. Natalie was born in New York City on November 18, 1918 but grew up in the Morristown area. She attended Peck School, Kent Place, and Morristown High School (Class of ’37), and graduated from Connecticut College for Women in 1941, with post graduate studies at the New York School of Social Work. She married Charles Edward Kleinkauf, a Special Agent for the FBI, and they settled in Morris Plains to raise their family. Natalie and Charles both enjoyed playing golf and were members of Springbrook Country Club. Charles retired from the FBI after 32 years of service and served as a vice-president of what is now Chase Bank until 1976 when Charles again retired and they moved to Sun City, Arizona.
A natural and very capable leader, Natalie quickly became involved in community activities, and served as president for local organizations: the Woman’s Club in Morristown, the Home Garden Club, and Circle 11 of the Presbyterian Church. While living in Arizona she was President of Riverview Women’s Golf Association, a member of the Quartz Chapter of Questers and a Board member of Sun City Art Museum.
Always with a friendly smile on her face, Natalie loved her family and friends and enjoyed many years of travel with Charles in their retirement. Her grace and dignity was an inspiration to all.
