Doris Louise Emrich, nee Shoemaker, 91, died on Friday, November 1, 2019 at Holly Manor Nursing Home in Mendham, NJ.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.”  Matthew 25:21

Doris was born to Jonas and Florence Shoemaker and was raised in Spring City, PA.  She was married to Richard (Dick) Emrich in December 1950. They moved from PA in 1964 and spent the rest of their lives in NJ, most of which in Rockaway Twp.

After graduating from Spring City High School, Doris attended business school in Reading, PA and worked as a secretary until 1953. She then devoted herself to homemaking until 1975 when she received her real estate license. She was employed by several agencies with Thomas Brackin Real Estate in Mountain Lakes, NJ being her favorite. Doris enjoyed drawing, sewing, candle making, and writing poetry. But most of all she enjoyed her family.

Doris loved her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ and was quick to share that love with those she came in contact with. She was a beloved member of Church of the Covenant in Hackettstown, NJ.

She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years Dick Emrich. She is survived by her daughters Linda Channell & Nancy Butterfield, son-in-laws Tom Channell & Alan Butterfield, grandchildren Sean Channell, Charlotte Channell, Justin Webb, Shannon Webb, Olivia Post, and great-grandchildren Benjamin & Madelyn Webb.

A memorial service will be held at Church of the Covenant, 319 Blau Rd, Hackettstown, NJ at future date. Interment at Zion’s Cemetery in Spring City, PA in the spring.
