Mike was the perfect blend of tough son of a gun and sweet teddy bear. He wouldn't think twice about giving you the shirt off his back, either. He was a courageous man who fought hard in life for the things that really mattered to him, like the rights and benefits of his co-workers, to the comfort and well being of his family. This was never more evident than when he talked about his children. He would just light up and glow every time he spoke of them. His loyalty was unparalleled. He also possessed an incredible sense of humor, which he needed, to endure the countless hours dedicated to serving his members in the union and negotiating with the company. Days in our break room (Dew Drop Inn) were always filled with laughter and high jinks, especially when Mike was around. He could really keep things light. Mike loved golf and to this day, with the exception of maybe Mike Cologna, could crush a ball out of the tee box like no other. A strong bear with a gentle heart. Rest in peace my brother, you will be missed, but never forgotten.

Dear Joey, Angelo, Pam and family,
To say I'm shocked is an understatement. When your Dad and I started at Bud we became instant friends. We hooked up and at times fished with your grandfather at Diamond Mill way back when you guys lived in Maplewood. Additionally, many times after that all over NJ. Both saltwater and freshwater. Coincidentally, our path took similar paths as Union officials and coworkers. We managed to endure through all the hard times and found a way to cheer even the smallest victories. Your Dad kept me grounded. He was always the mind of reason, keeping my knee jerk reactionary ways in check. A tried and true Teamster if ever there was one. Through the many times of travel and weeks spent away from home, he always kept his family at the top of the heap. He loved his kids, of that you can be certain. But, i'm sure you know that. Mike was my bro without doubt. A lifelong selfless Teamster, great family man, a funny and terrific friend. One who I'll miss dearly till the day I die. I shall never forget him. Rest in Peace my brother. There will never be another like you. My world was a better place because you were in it, Pete

Hello Pam, I am Mike's neighbor. I am so sorry to see him go. I loved watching him ride his bicycle by my house and stop to say hello. He loved to tell me stories about when he golfed. We were supposed to golf next week. I will say a prayer for Mike, and your family. I miss him already.
