Barbara E. Thompson, Hackettstown, age 66, beloved mother, sister and aunt passed away Thursday, March 28, 2019 at home.  Barbara was born June 4, 1952 in Newark, NJ to the late Walter and Veronica (Kearney) Oranchak. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her sister Kathleen Reed. Barbara spent most of her career working as a Paralegal and in more recent years was the Mortgage Closing Supervisor for Unity Bank. Raised in Basking Ridge, she was a proud mother who embraced time spent with her children, enjoyed vegetable gardening, eagerly awaited the flowering of her spring bulbs and  looked forward to multiple group outings with family and friends to baseball games. She always had a positive upbeat attitude. We will miss her infectious sense of humor and quick wit. 

 


She is survived by her daughter, Christine Tomb and husband Devon, her son Michael Thompson and companion Katherine Salvatore, brother Mark Oranchak; sister, Colleen Esposito and husband John; sister, Janice Camelotto and husband Peter; brother-in-law, Mark Reed; nieces, Catherine and Jessica Esposito, Lauren, Michelle and Rachel Camelotto and nephew David Reed. 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 5:00pm at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ.  Visitation will be from 3-6 pm.  Those wishing to leave an online condolence may do so at www.cochranfuneral.com/
