Dorothy Anna Schlereth, 81, of Hazel Park, MI, passed away on February 13, 2014 at St. Josephs Hospital in Reading, PA. Born in Brooklyn, NY on September 22, 1932 to the late Daniel and Adeline (Fippinger) Schiffbauer. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, the late Adam Schlereth (2000).
Dorothy lived in Hazel Park, MI. for 5 years coming from Mohrsville, PA. She was previously employed as a file clerk for Hackettstown Regional Medical Center, Hackettstown, NJ. for many years. Dorothy was a member, Elder and Charter member of the Tranquility Seventh Day Adventist Church; she was an investment leader and very active in the church. She enjoyed scrapbooking, needlepoint, playing the piano and doing bible crossword puzzles.
She is survived by son, Harry Scott and his wife Amy Beth Schlereth; daughters, Melody Ann Dillon (late husband William F. Dillon), Wendy Lee and her husband Roy Allan Slayton; grandchildren, Ryan Slayton, Rianna Fornwalt, William Dillon, Rebecca K. Schlereth, Adam Schlereth and Anna Carol Schlereth; great grandchildren, Kaylee and Aria Fornwalt; 6 nieces and nephews; predeceased by a brother, Daniel Schiffbauer and 2 sisters, Gloria Stark and Adeline Brooks.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 19, 2014, 2:00 - 4:00 PM and 7:00 - 9:00 PM at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High St., Hackettstown, NJ 07840. There will be a viewing on Thursday, February 20, 10:00 AM - 12:00 Noon at the Tranquility Seventh Day Adventist Church, Rt. 517, Tranquility, NJ. with the funeral service to begin at 12:00 Noon at the church.
Interment will be in Tranquility Cemetery, Tranquility, NJ.

Wendy & Family--so sorry for your loss. Dorothy was a Christian woman with a big heart. So glad you were able to spend quality time with her these past few weeks as she was staying with you. May God continue to share His love & comfort with you. We look forward to that special day when we all can be reunited with our parents and loved ones again. We love you all! Ron & Janet Olsyne
