Carmen D. Bires, age 79, of Long Valley, NJ died Monday, March 9, 2020 at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center, Hackettstown, NJ.  Carmen was born January 15, 1941 in Puerto Rico to the late Emilio and Francesca (Rodriguez) Vergara.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved daughter and son in law, Carmen and Jack Lance in 2009 and three brothers Louis Vergara, Joe Vergara and Oscar Rodriguez.

She was Owner/Operator of New World International, Paterson, NJ.  Carmen was an accomplished Chemical Engineer who held 13 US patents in the Chemical industry.  She was featured in Forbes Magazine, was an avid NY Yankee fan and enjoyed watching the flowers bloom in the springtime. 

She is survived by two devoted sons, Louis A. Martinez and John Joseph Bires, wife Michele as well as granddaughters Aurelia Marie and Mila Annette. She is also survived by three brothers, Joseph Vergara and wife Karen, Hector Vergara and wife Awilda, Jose Emilio Rodriguez and wife Rosa and her sister, Myriam Rodriguez and husband Salvador. Sister in law, Carmencita Ofelia. Carmen is remembered by her loving companion, Angelo Fiorita, and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Catholic burial will be held 11:00 am on Monday, March 16, 2020 at Our Lady of the Mountain Church, 2 E. Springtown Rd, Long Valley, NJ with Rev. Marchin Michalowski officiating.  Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery, Califon.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 15, 2020 from 12 noon - 4 pm at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ.  Online condolences may be left at www.cochranfuneral.com

Que puedo decir de la señora Carmen que fue una gran persona,la conocí 4años pero fueron suficientes el los cuales le agarré un gran cariño y dar mi gran pésame asu gran compañero de tantos años que estuvo con ella tanto en las buenas como en las malas la cuidó y siempre estuvo al pendiente de ella.Siempre la recordaré con mucho cariño y admiración por todo loque logro hacer el largo de su vida.

Yo la conocí unos 4años pero fueron suficientes para decir que fue una gran persona pero asu lado tuvo un gran compañero que estuvo en los momentos más difíciles el cual me consta que no vi a nadien más que la cuidara más su gran compañero de muchos años mi más sentido pésame su gran compañero de muchos años y asus seres queridos

Los años que la conocí fueron suficientes para tomarle mucho cariño recuerdos bonitos pero también tristes desde qué se enfermó nada fue igual pero siempre la recordaré los consejos que siempre me dió mi viejita la recodaré siempre mis condolencias para toda la familia descanse Enpaz señora Carmen
