Robert W. Carswell, age 92, of Mansfield Township, NJ died Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Warren Haven Care Center. Robert was born October 17, 1920 in New York City, NY. He is the son of the late Cedric Waldo and Gertrude (Karr) Carswell. He was predeceased by his wife, late Shirley (Sutton) Carswell.
Robert was a resident of Warren Haven for the last five years and previously lived in Hackettstown, NJ most of his life. He was employed by Welsh Farms, Long Valley, NJ for 34 years as a Laborer and retired from there. Prior to working at Welsh Farms, he was employed at the former Lakawanna Leather and Licon Tile Co., both local firms.
He is survived by a daughter, Gerri Lou & Pete Huyrk, Hackettstown, NJ; 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; predeceased by a son Randall Carswell (2012) and a brother, Chester Carswell.
The funeral will be held 10:00 am on Monday, January 28, 2013 at St. James Episcopal Church, 214 Washington Street, Hackettstown, N.J. Burial will be in Pequest Union Cemetery, Great Meadows, NJ.
Calling hours will be Sunday, January 27, 2013 from 4:00 - 8:00PM at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J.
