Michael "Gooch" Hannigan
Died: May 5, 2019
He was previously employed by Construction Laborers Union Local #472, Newark, NJ as a Heavy Highway Laborer. Gooch was an avid hunter and fisherman, he enjoyed music and was devoted NY Yankees, Denver Broncos and West Virginia Mountaineers fan. Most of all he was a dedicated husband, father and friend.
Gooch is survived by his wife: Geraldine “Geri” (Romano) Hannigan, his daughter, Sheali Hannigan, two brothers, William Hannigan and wife Kathleen, John Hannigan and wife Pat, his father-in-law, John Norton, many nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Toby.
The funeral will be held 7:30 pm on Friday, May 10 at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J. with Rev. Mario Spardaro officiating. Cremation is private.
Visitation will be Friday, May 10, 2019 from 4-8 pm at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association, New Jersey-Memorial Processing Center, 1160 US Highway 22 Suite 103, Bridgewater, NJ 08807 in memory of Gooch.

Geri,I'm so very sorry for your lost. Gooch was a great man,and a beautiful friend. I will always remember him at Nana Groves,give us young ones his advice on life. He will be missed. Condolences to you and your family...

Dear Geri & Sheali,
We are so sorry for your loss. Gooch was and great friend and would do anything for anyone at anytime. Remember all the Great times we had and you had with Gooch too. Remember your honeymoon at Niagra Falls with us. What a week especially the helicopter ride when Gooch was scared to death yelling at me and the pilot. May god be with you and your daughter always. We are so very sad to hear that Gooch has passed. Even though we hadn’t seen him in a couple years, he was one of those friends who never forgot the history of his friendships and he remained loyal to that history. Gone way too soon.

Mike was one of the first kids I met when I moved to Hackettstown in 1964. He was always a good guy.
