Gediminas W. Rajeckas

Gediminas W. Rajeckas, 88, of Mount Olive Township, NJ died on December 1, 2013 at his residence in Paragon Village. He was born in Panevezys, Lithuania on February 6, 1925 to the late Joseph and Veronica (Janusionis) Rajeckas.  He was predeceased by his wife, Regina (Vencas) Rajeckas.

Gediminas lived in Mt. Olive Township, NJ for 10 years coming from Queens, NY and prior to that he lived in Brooklyn, NY.
He was a Mechanical Engineer with the Board of Education of Queens, NY.  He was a member of the Lithuanian Mens Choir in Brooklyn, NY and also sang in the choir of the Transfiguration Church in Queens, NY;  He loved to sing, and draw as a draftsman.  Gediminas enjoyed Lithuanian Cultural events and was an active member of the Lithuanian community. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by two sons, Andrew and wife Lynn Rajeckas; Paul Rajeckas and wife Julianne Dow; two grandchildren, Stephen and Gina; one cousin Akvile Janusionis; he was predeceased by a brother Faustas.

Services are private and under the direction of the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High St., Hackettstown, NJ 07840.

A burial of remains will be held at St. Charles Cemetery, Amityville, Long Island at a later date.
