Roy Bryant of Madison Heights, Michigan and Independence, Virginia died in Hackettstown,N.J. Saturday May 2nd after a lengthy illness. He was 92. Roy was predeceased by his wife Milan Hendry Bryant in 1975. He is survived by his daughter, Deirdre Bryant Worth, her husband Norman Worth, and his beloved grandchildren Armando Worth and Yoli Worth. Roy is also survived by his sisters, Geneva Tuck and Virginia Carter. Roy served in the Signal Corps during World War II. He was a police officer for the city of Detroit for 25 years, and later worked as a fraud investigator for the State of Michigan. After retiring, he became a tree farmer in Virginia, where his family has deep roots. There will be a service at the Flat Rock Methodist Church on Powerhouse Road in Independence, Virginia at 10 am on May 14th, 2015 with The Reverend Terri Johnson Gregory presiding. Interment at the Bryant Cemetery will follow. There will be visiting hours at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840 on May 7th, 2015 from 10am - Noon with services beginning at noon. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice, 99 Sparta Avenue, Newton, NJ 07860.
