Louis "Lou" F. Romano, age 96, of Green Township, N.J. died Friday, December 20, 2013.
Mr. Romano was born July 24, 1917 in Orange, New Jersey. He was the son of the late Alfonso and late Teresa (guggio) Romano. He was predeseased by his wife of 68 years, Josephine (Masciocchi) Romano. He is also predeseased by his 3 brothers Sam, Alfonso and Pat and 2 sisters Josie and Mary. He is survived by two sisters Anne and Grace, his son Louis J. Romano, his daughter Eloise Meier and her husband Bart, three grandchildren; Eric Romano and his wife Molly; Carissa Romano and husband Jeff Little and Paul Meier; three great grandchildren; Gabriella, Christian and Alexis.
Lou served US Army as a Sergeant during World War II from 1942 to 1946. He was employed by the US Postal Service for 40 years and retired as Branch Manager of the West Orange, NJ Post Office. Lou enjoyed playing golf and watching sports. He was a hard working man who provided for and loved his family.
A private graveside service and burial will be held at Good Shepherd Cemetery, Andover, NJ with Father Martin McDonnell officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimers Association in his name at 400 Morris Ave., Suite 251 Denville, NJ 07834-1365.
