Ruth M. Ceddia

Ruth M. Ceddia, age 87, of  Easton, PA died Thursday, September 6, 2012 at Manor Care Nursing Home in Easton, PA.  Ruth was born December 17, 1924 in Sterling, NJ. She is the daughter of the late William and Caroline (Simet) Loerch. 

She graduated from Hackettstown High School in 1942. After working at American Sawmill and Picatinny Arsenal she enlisted in the United States Marine Corps as a volunteer during the "free a man to fight" program.  She served as a stenographer in Washington, D.C. until WW II ended. She was extremely proud of her military service and was always patriotic.
 
Ruth lived in Hackettstown, NJ most of her life, later in Florida and Belvidere, NJ.  She was a parishioner of St. Mary's Church of the Assumption, St. Patrick's in Belvidere, NJ and a member of the American Legion in White Township, NJ. She was a devout catholic and always prayed for family and friends.

She retired from Jersey Central Power and Light in  1985 after many years of service.

She is survived by a son, Michael Ceddia, Hackettstown, NJ; a daughter & husband, Margaret & Norman Chmielewski, Bangor, PA; 4 Grandaughters, Sarah, Rachel, Tina and Laura; great grandchildren, Hans, Michael, Jenna, Vincent And Dominik; many nieces and nephews; predeceased by 2 brothers, Alfred and Harold Loerch and a sister, Gloria Loerch Carpenter.

The funeral will be held 12:00 pm on Monday, September 10, 2012 at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J. Burial will be in Hackettstown Union Cemetery, Hackettstown, NJ
