Edward A. Breitenstein

Edward A. Breitenstein, age 84, of Hackettstown died Sunday, April 7, 2013 at Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown, NJ. Edward was born September 14, 1928 in Jersey City, NJ. He was the son of the late Albert and Margaret (Oelze) Breitenstein. He was married to Hildegard (Ullmer) Breitenstein. 
 
He served in the Army during the Korean War from 1948 to 1952. Edward received the Army of Occupation Medal. He retired from Bendix Aviation, Honeywell International, Teterboro, NJ as a Supervisor in 1992. Edward was previously employed by Western Electric, Kearny, NJ as their Manufacturing Supervisor from 1946-1984.
 
Edward loved spending time with his family. He was a member of the VFW Lodge in Hackettstown, NJ and the Moose Lodge in Secaucus, NJ. He loved to travel and go sightseeing, was an avid reader who also enjoyed crossword puzzles and in his younger years liked to assemble models. Edward’s favorite baseball team was the NY Mets.
 
He is survived by his wife: Hildegard (Ullmer) Breitenstein, 1 daughter; Mary Levy; 1 son; John and wife Vickie, 4 grandchildren: Michelle, Diana, Adrien, and Summer; 3 great grandchildren; Mia, Aden, Maya.
 
Arrangements are by Cochran Funeral Home. Visitation hours will be Wednesday, April 10 from 3:00 pm - 7:00 PM at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J.
 
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hackettstown First Aid & Rescue Squad, PO Box 201, Hackettstown, NJ 07840 in memory of Edward.
