Ralph Edwin Bailey, age 87, of Allamuchy, NJ died Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown, NJ. Ralph was born March 7, 1925 in Allamuchy, NJ. He is the son of the late George C. and Nellie (Wheeler) Bailey. 

He was employed by M & M Mars Inc., Hackettstown, N.J. in the production department and retired in 1993. Previously, he had worked with his father and brother as a carpenter for G.C. Bailey & Sons of Allamuchy, N.J. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from '43 to '46 in the Atlantic & Pacific Theatre manning a 5" Cannon on the warships DE340 O'Flaherty & the USS River Raisin. 
Ralph was an active Charter Member of the Allamuchy-Green First Aid Squad since 1971, member of DESA (Destroyer Escort Association), the M&M's Retiree Assoc. and the  Allamuchy Seniors Association.  Ralph was also an avid NASCAR enthusiast and traveled to many races with his wife Arlene in thier RV. Ralph also enjoyed bowling and belonged to several leagues in Warren County over the years. He was a former member of Tranquility United Methodist Church and was currently an active member of Panther Valley Ecumenical Ministries, Allamuchy, N .J. with his beloved wife Arlene.

He is survived by his wife: Arlene (Watters) Bailey, Allamuchy, NJ; 1 son, G. Gregory Bailey, Hackettstown, NJ; 3 grandchildren., Krista A. Bailey-Murphy, Jessica Mershon Bailey-Silvent & Gregory Sven Bailey. 1 great grandaughter, Brianna Nicole Bailey. He was predeceased by his brother, Cecil Bailey.

Visitation will be on Friday, 10-5-12 from 5 - 8pm at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High St., Hackettstown, N.J. 07840. Funeral Services will be on Saturday, 10AM at the Panther Valley Ecumenical Ministries Church, Rte 517, Allamuchy, N.J.  In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Allamuchy-Green 1st Aid Squad or the P.V.E.M.
