 Howard A Bartow, age 90, of Hackettstown, NJ passed away Sunday, August 27, 2017 at Colonial Manor of Hackettstown, NJ after a long battle with cancer.  Mr. Bartow was born April 11, 1927 in Morristown, NJ to the late John and Ada (Pyle) Bartow of Vienna, NJ. In addition to his parents, Howard is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marilyn Dorcas Bartow and his daughter, Jacalyn.

Howard was the CEO of Conneaut Leather, Conneaut, Ohio before retiring.  Prior to moving to Ashtabula, OH in 1975, he was a partner in Middletown Leather of Middletown, NY and Hackettstown, NJ.  He produced leather for Ford, GM and Chrysler.  He also furnished leather for the furniture industry and book binders.  He was recognized more than once for “Leatherman of the Year” for his innovative leather finishes and processes.

He served in the US Navy from 1944 to 1945 as an Accountant in Corpus Christi, Texas.  He was an avid golfer, a member of the Ashtabula Country Club, Ashtabula Elks, the Rotary and the American Legion. He along with his son Bradley were members of the NEBO Hunting Lodge in Bushkill, PA.

He is survived by his son, Bradley Bartow and wife Lauren of Hope, NJ, his loving granddaughter, Megan Bartow and fiancé Douglas Sloyer of Belvidere, NJ and beloved grandson,  Bradley Bartow, II and wife Jenna of Belvidere, NJ.

At the request of the family all services are private.

Brad and family. Our sincere condolences at the death of Howard. I (Dalt) was best man at their wedding those many years ago. Our hearts and prayers go out to you all. God has another good soul and Howard is now with Marilyn and Jacalyn.

Bradley, seeing your Father's obituary brings back fond memories when your Dad came to our house to do my Father's (Willard Dellicker) accounting books and he would bring you along. We extend our deepest sympathy to you and your family.
